Amazing, loving, eager, thoughtful, hard-working and awesome. These are some of the many words used to describe Ms. Armour. She wears multiple hats at Terrell High School and does an excellent job at getting things done, but the most important job to her is making sure her students are excelling. She is visible in the hallways and is often seen helping group of students. Ms. Armour is always sharing a word of encouragement with others, even on the toughest days.
"'It’s a great day to be a Greenwave' can be heard from her in the morning as she greets you," the nominator said. “Have you completed your FASFA?” is a question being asked to a graduating senior. “Let me tell you my story” can be heard while she is helping a student that feels discouraged. Ms. Aletha Armour is the epitome and heart of Terrell County High School."
A proven leader in her school, Ms. Armour can be found at every meeting, giving input, organizing data and keeping minutes. Whether it's a leadership meeting, school governance meeting or PBIS gathering, she always comes prepared. When students need a form, advice or any kind of help, Ms. Armour’s name comes up. Even with all her duties and responsibilities, she finds time to collaborate with a group of school ambassadors and co-coaches the Shockwave robotics team.
"She goes to work daily with the purpose of serving and helping the children of TCHS to become better students," the nominator said. "She is not in the classroom physically, but her presence is known throughout the campus. A smile that brightens your day and a heart that has the patience to calm down an angry teenager are just two extra reasons why she is a LifeChanger in Terrell County."
