Jennifer Pratt was nominated by a former student, Alli Crabtree.
Mrs. Pratt is a remarkable woman who has inspired many children to follow their dreams by sharing a love of music. She impacted Crabtree's life by introducing her to her passion, musical theatre. Pratt has a warm presence that lights up a room. She is a dedicated music teacher who spends countless hours teaching and loving her students.
"One thing that sets Mrs. Pratt apart is her drive to get to know her students personally. When you walk into her classroom, she always greets you with a smile and asks you about your day, even when she is struggling," Crabtree said.
Mrs. Pratt may teach music during the school day, but after hours, she becomes a director, who works many hours to create an environment that allows students to express themselves freely. Pratt has directed many musicals at Claybon Elementary School and has inspired many students to pursue musical theatre.
"I am no longer her student, but I still receive Mrs. Pratt's love and support in my plan to pursue musical theatre. Without her guidance, many students, along with myself, would not have found our passion, our purpose, or our joy, which is music." Crabtree said. "The students at Claybon Elementary, past and present, are so lucky to have someone like Mrs. Pratt. She is a true life changer."

I have two children at Claybon and both of them LOVE Mrs. Pratt. Her energy and enthusiasm are contagious and inspiring. Every time I see her she has a smile on her face and the kids all light up when they interact with her. I've witnessed her in conversation with students and she always looks them in the eye and pays attention to them. Students know that she cares about them and they undeniably love her back. Thank you Mrs. Pratt for being joyful, kind, patient and understanding to your Claybon kids past and present. You are a life changer!!
My daughter is in Kindergarten and frequently talks about her wonderful music teacher Ms. Pratt. In Shannah’s first month of school Ms. Pratt was pivotal in helping me to discover a health condition my daughter was dealing with. If it wasn’t for Ms. Pratt letting me know that my daughter had fallen asleep in class, I don’t think I would have had any idicators of her having any health issues. Not long after a thoughtful email from Ms. Pratt and some severe tummy aches, we discovered my daughter was suffering from an autoimmune condition that we have since gotten under control.
Ms. Pratt is such an inspiration to not only her students, but her students’ parents. My son is in the 1st grade and comes home wanting to learn more about music! She inspires me as a parent because I see her dedication as a teacher, parent and community member. She is kind and very spirited. Her smile is contagious and it is such a pleasure to be around her. I am so blessed to have her teach my son!
Mrs. Pratt has changed so many lives with her enthusiam and love for her students. My oldest daughter discovered a slef- confidence she never had before through the opportunities provided by Mrs. Pratt. It set her on a new path in life that she would not have discovered if not for the time, love, and energy Mrs. Pratt pours into her students. Mrs. Pratt spent months every school year putting together a school musical production, on her own time. It has always been something Claybon could be proud of, because of her and her selfless efforts. My daughter still likes to stop by Claybon in the morning on her way to school to say Hi to Mrs. Pratt when she can. This is a special bond unlike any other my daughter has formed in her 9+ years of public education. It is because Mrs. Pratt is the definition of a Life Changer. There is no one I can think of more deserving of this award. She has changed countless lives, but first hand, I have seen her change one that means the most to me, my daughter. She has changed her for the better.
I am a co-worker of Mrs. Jennifer Pratt and get to witness on a daily basis how much she loves her job and her students! She goes way above and beyond the call of duty by putting on full musicals with the 4th, 5th, and 6th graders every year, which requires many hours of unpaid overtime. In addition to the musical, Mrs. Pratt also puts on grade level programs in Kindergarten through 6th grades. She inspires her students to dream big and reach for the stars! I believe Mrs. Pratt really deserves this LifeChanger Award!

Mrs. Pratt is a true lifechanger!!! My daughter, Allison, is the one that nominated Mrs. Pratt for this award. She has literally changed my daughter's life and found her God given talents with her music program at Claybon. My daughter is now in high school and spends all her free time preforming on stage, taking voice lesson and dance classes. She wants to purse a career in Musical theatre because of the training and support she has received from Mrs. Pratt since she was in kindergarten. I can not thank her enough for inspiration and support that she continues to give Alli and a daily basses. I'm also the principal at Mrs. Pratt's current school and the things she does for our students is inspiring. She is up beat and makes music so exciting for our students. I only worked with Mrs. Pratt for a little while when I was doing my student teaching at Claybon, but that was all the time I needed to know what a true gem she is. Mrs.Pratt has been one of best teachers that i have had for my whole life at Claybon she lets us do some cool and fun stuff in her classroom and she teaches the awesome hand claping games and other fun stuff like that and i have the best time in her class because I get to hang out with my friends and still learn and so I HOPE YOU WIN.
I have been at claybon since second grade, and as soon as I was able to chior and theater, I tried out. I have continued to do these wonderful things with Mrs. Pratt, and she helped me be a better singer and actress. I was always self-consious about my singing, since I wasn't a natural born singer, but Mrs. Pratt helped me feel better about how I sing. My first year in theater I was an extra with a few other fourth graders, and Mrs. Pratt helped us all feel important by saying that we all have a role to play, and even though we might feel like the show can go on without us, it really can't. Mrs. Pratt is a wonderful, fun teacher and defintaly deserves the Life Changer of the Year Award!

Ever since my first day at Claybon, Mrs. Pratt has always lifted me up. I remember in 5th grade I was doing the tryout for All-City Choir and I was crying and it took me 2-3 times for me to finally sing. She lifted me up and I made it. Mrs. Pratt is a true life changer.

I have a second grader & a kindergartner. They both love Mrs. Pratt's class. My kindergartner said it's her favorite specials. She loves music & singing. I'm sure Mrs. Pratt will forever hold a special place in both of my children's hearts.
My daughter was new to this school this year. After the first week, she told me what a great teacher Mrs Pratt was and how much she adored her. We saw her outside of school and I thought my daughter was going to have a fit! It was like she saw a celebrity! She made the transition to a new school easier for my child and has helped her foster her passion for music. She says she can't wait to be in a music program!
Mrs. Pratt is wonderful!! My daughter lights up every time she sees her and runs to give her a hug. So many students make it a point after school to talk to her or get a hug, you can tell how much she is loved by the whole school. She is has and is making a huge difference in the lives of all of our kids!!
Mrs. Pratt is a life changer for our entire school. Her energy and love for kids makes every day better at Claybon. She works hard to make sure every child, from Kindergarten to 6th grade feels 'seen' and appreciated. She thinks about how to use music in unique ways to teach something more important than the curriculum. She creates joy, builds confidence, and most importantly, she teaches us all how to listen to the song in our hearts!
Mrs. Pratt is a ray of sunshine. She has the most loving and sweet heart you will ever meet. She genuinely loves her students and her job. She makes learning a joy and has positively influenced every child that has walked in her door.
It is truly a joy to work along side with Mrs. Pratt who daily demonstrates her love of music, teaching and her students. I’ve watched many students light up with the joy of performing and singing as a result of her work and therefore also ignite a new passion for their schoolwork.

My son adores Mrs. Pratt. He loves being in choir with her and has nothing but glowing remarks. My daughter goes to a different school but she took a summer musical class with Mrs Pratt and begged me to change schools so she could do musical theater with her.

Mrs. Pratt has been my favorite teacher since before I went to that school. I am not currently a student of hers but she will always be the one I look toward for music help.

Mrs. Pratt is a phenomenal teacher! I've enjoyed working with her the past few years and I love seeing her progress with our students! She is a hard-worker and strives to make learning about music fun and exciting for our kids! Every student I've ever had has ADORED Mrs. Pratt!

There aren't enough words to truly express the love and gratitude my family has for Jen Smithson Pratt.
She inspired both of my daughters, Rainy & Sunny, to explore music and all that it has to offer. From instruments, to vocals, to acting, and musical theater, they've tried it all because of Jen. Any child who comes through her program at Claybon will come out on the other end better for it. She has an amazing energy that never quits and a passion for teaching these kids about everything through music. She's is quite simply put, a Life Changer!

My daughter is in the first grade and loves Mrs. Pratt's music class! She’s constantly singing and making up songs and I attribute that to Mrs. Pratt’s passion for music and teaching.
I am privileged to work with Mrs. Pratt at Claybon Elementary School and see her enrich the lives of hundreds of children every day. I also have had the privilege of having all 3 of my daughters be her student. All of the students at our school love her and treat her like a rock star when she enters a room! I have seen her make an impact on so many levels... encouraging kids to take a risk, try something new and follow their hearts, and as a result, so many students have expanded their creative and musical sides as well as acting and overall confidence building. She truly is the epitome of a Lifechanger.

Mrs. Pratt is a wonderful teacher for children of all ages. I have seen her work change a shy student into someone willing and able to perform on stage with great confidence.
She was my 4th grade music teacher and she was amazing!! She always welcomed us into her classroom with a smile on her face!! I am no longer her student (I moved at the end of my 4th grade year) but she impacted my life!! She should definitely win!!!
