LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Eric Martinez was nominated by his colleague, Lucy Darnell.

Mr. Martinez has a strong can-do attitude and has stepped into many leadership roles. He teaches 3 different subjects: Physics, Astronomy and SOAR, where his students enjoy his many engaging activities. He also tutors his Physics and Astronomy students after school several evenings a week.

Mr. Martinez has scheduled several field trips for his students, both during the week and sometimes on the weekends. He enjoys giving his students a better understanding of the material they learn in class through real world examples. Two nights a week, Mr. Martinez teaches English classes to Spanish-speaking parents. He is also one of the Student Council Committee members and has been actively involved in planning several events and activities. 

"Mr. Martinez is respectful towards students and respectable as a person," Darnell said. "He is pleasant to work with and helps to positively add to the school culture."
