LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Bobby Tittle was nominated by his colleague, Kendall Poe.

Mr. Tittle has been the principal of Ohatchee High School for six years. During that time, he has accomplished many things, such as turning the athletics programs around, hiring great teachers, and loving his students. He has been president of the AASSP District VI for three years and was awarded the District VI Principal of the Year. 

In addition, Mr. Tittle was the 2017 "Making a Difference" award winner. This is an award given to educators by the Alabama High School Athletic Association and the Alabama Football Coaches Association for those who have made a difference in their school communities.

"Since Mr. Tittle has arrived, his leadership has brought pride back to our community through competitive sports programs," Poe said. "Before he arrived, our sports were not competitive. By hiring great personnel, focusing on mentoring students and developing leaders, we are now competitive in every varsity sport."

Mr. Tittle has started a program that gives students on the verge of dropping out a second chance to complete their diploma. This program has helped over 40 students graduate high school who would have otherwise dropped out. He has utilized and paid for seats in virtual classes for students to complete their work on the campus, so they can still utilize bus transportation. 

He holds coaches and teachers to high standards, and focuses on developing future student leaders. Mr. Tittle is quoted as saying, "you can determine the success of your team in about 10 years...what will they become?"

"He holds students and teachers to a high moral and ethical standard," Poe said. "During the 2017-2018 school year, we have had no ejections or fines in our sports programs. Mr. Tittle is a true LifeChanger!"
