Arabrian Lewis was nominated by an anonymous colleague.
For nearly six years, Ms. Lewis has encouraged positive change in the lives of her students. She manages to balance professionalism with genuine care for each individual student. Her nominator has seen her go to extreme lengths to make sure every student has everything they need, including taking on a homebound teaching position on top of her counselor's work and position as campus testing coordinator.
Ms. Lewis ensures that students have supplies for the school day and buys clothing for students in need. She even washes their uniforms at the school to make sure they are well taken care of.
"She maintains a running list of students who need snacks for their home over the weekends or school breaks," the nominator said. "She even gives them extra snacks when she knows that they have siblings. Her professionalism is beyond words. I am constantly amazed by her poise and self-control. Her ability to speak to students and parents is one I hope to achieve one day."

Arabrian is a phenomenal counselor, truly one of the best. Not only is she concerned about students, but I have also witnessed her go above and beyond for parents and teachers. Lancaster OSD is blessed to have her, and she has been a light on her campus.
Ms. Lewis is so deserving of this award. Her spirit and professionalism is what makes her truly special. She genuinely cares about the well being of all her students. I've personally witnessed her encouraging and speaking life into students on numerous occasions. She takes the position of school counselor serious and goes beyond the call of duty daily!
This award is perfect for Ms. Lewis because she is definitely a life changer. Her hardwork and dedication to students is second to none. I have always looked to her as a mentor and example of strong work ethic and leadership. She has a love and passion for students, she cares about educating the whole child, the academics as well as the social emotional. This award is long overdue.

Ms. Arabrian Lewis provides committed suppport to the scholars in her school, as well as, those within her community. Ms. Lewis recognizes the importance of nurturing the whole child and provides academic, social and emotional support for her scholars and their families. Ms.Lewis strives to ensure that each and every student has personal, mental and educational needs met. Ms. Lewis does a fantastic job preparing new and veteran teachers on how to administer state procedures and guidelines during testing. Ms. Lewis has passion and patience for students with challenging behaviors connected to their disabilities, and offer ongoing support to families with children receiving services in special education.
She is exactly what our children need...someone who cares.
