Jennifer Schelp was nominated by her colleague, Charity Hanner.

Ms. Schelp is a talented and creative Spanish teacher who loves her students endlessly. She goes above and beyond on a daily basis to make certain that her students understand not only the Spanish language, but the rich culture and heritage, as well. She always tries to incorporate different learning styles into her curriculum. 

"I could go on and on about her teaching style and competence in the classroom, but what makes Jennifer special is that she builds positive relationships with students that last far beyond the school year," Hanner said. "Students know that they are always expected to achieve at high levels, as she has high expectations for each of them as more than test takers. She wants them to be successful as people, and the kids know this."

Ms. Schelp has a mutual respect and appreciation for her students and the classroom.

"I could list all of her amazing qualities, but all you have to do is to ask her students; the ones she has now and the ones she has already made an impact on," Hanner said. "They would all 100% agree! Jennifer Schelp is an amazing teacher!"
