Alicia Jones was nominated by her friend, Nicole Dixon.
Ms. Jones began her teaching career over 17 years ago. She is a third grade teacher whose students are affectionately known as her "Owls." She encourages them and brings out the best in them by ensuring they have a positive, structured learning environment.
Ms. Jones regularly accepts donations for her students and their families to assist with any needs students have outside of the classroom. Whether it's a winter drive to provide students with winter wardrobes or ensuring they all have gifts for Christmas, Ms. Jones is always looking to help. She continues to build relationships with students and their families long after they've left her classroom. She has proudly watched her former students graduate high school and go on to have very successful college careers.
Ms. Jones regularly receives donations and distributes care packages for Dallas area homeless residents. She's also the head of a local non-profit organization called, "Jewels of Promise," where girls aged 5-18 are taught social etiquette, life skills, and entrepreneurial skill sets combined with technology and the opportunity to use those newly acquired skills. She is also a member of a community service organization called Delta Sigma Theta.
"Alicia has a desire to assist and serve others reaches all parts of our community," Dixon said. "Her love for our wonderful city and it's youth is inspiring and unwavering."
Ms. Jones is very deserving of this award. She is one of the most selfless educators that I know. I have only known her for a short period of time, but in that time, i have seen her run toy drives, coat drives and one that is dearest to me, breast cancer awareness. She shows that she cares in and out of the classroom. And for that, she is a Lifechanger!

At our initial meeting, it was evident that Ms. Alicia R. Jones was excited and passionate about her work in education. Ms. Jones is eager to involve herself in the many aspects of teaching and learning. As educator at A.W. Brown Leadership Academy, she searches for ways to demonstrate in daily effort and interaction that student’s lives are valued, and their humanity honored. Her style of teaching young people is as unique as she is. There is time when this young lady goes far and beyond to make sure that each child in her class is equipped with not only educational but physical and moral values.

The journey of life is filled with an array of people. Some impact you and others don’t. Periodically your will encounter a soul that proves to be the most amazing ray of light. One who’s light shine so brightly it illuminates your soul. Alicia is such a person. I’m sure she is blazing a path for many more because she was born the blaze a trial.
I've known this young lady for some years now. I must say she is ineif the most caring, giving, and loving Mentors I know. The love that she has for her failmy is extended to her friends, students, and any charity she has a heart for.

Ms. Jones is the most giving person that I know she gives from her heart with her students. Every grade that she's taught in her 17 years of teaching she makes sure the students gets the best education and knowledge of things that goes on in class and outside the classroom. When holidays comes around she makes sure everyone of her students is treated special they feel the love from her in what she does. One year to had one or two students that was less fortunate she saw these children come to school but they had home needs she took it upon herself to make those children's had what they needed she got coats and blankets and other things for them and the mother couldn't speak English but she just cried and thank Ms. Jones that's who she is more than a teacher and that's why she should win.
This young lady here is moat deserving of your award she goes the extra mile for anyone in and around her. She encourages and promotes any and everything a person puts their mind too. I love her so much.
Alicia is an amazing teacher, Autism and Epilepsy Awareness advocate and community liason for various non-profits that assist the homeless, school age girls and women in crisis. She is an amazing wedding planner and special events coordinator. Her creativity and personal touch is truly a gift. Her faith, love of her family and her heart for her community, is always on her lips. There is nothing this woman can't do. She is truly a Wonder Woman to all who know her.
Alicia Jones is truly a God send with a heart of gold! She gives tirelessly to others in need and is always putting others before herself. She is an amazing teacher inside and outside the classroom and has a passion for helping girls become the very best they can be. She is the founder of Jewels of Promise “Can-do” girls club where she targets girls ages 8-12 and equips them with the skills they need to be a productive member of society. Through teaching them self-confidence, health, sisterhood, sense of community, and so much more Alicia continues to exemplify the character of a true woman of God. She has regular drives for the homeless and is consistently active within her community! She is definitely a life changer because she has changed mine and my daughters life forever just by being apart of our lives.

Ms. Jones is an inspiration to all. She gives tirelessly, to all around her and asks for nothing in return. I'd like to add, in spite of her many responsibilities, with over 25 students, in her spare time she maintains and operates a homeless clothing drive, also a personal needs drive, where she gives personal essentials necessary for survival things like toothpaste, soap towels, blankets, lotion, lip balm etc. Things that most people take for granted, she pays special attention to. She loves giving back to others. She refuses to accept things from others for her own personal benefit. She has the biggest kindest heart, and a love for people and children like none other. When educating her students, she spares no expense and is always going the extra mile to ensure success. Spending her own personal resources, time and energy to ensue these students success. Going early and staying late is a mainstay. She's always thinking of her students and how She can impact their lives and improve their learning experience(s). Life skills and school objectives has garnered Ms. Jones one of the most successful educators worth one of the highest student success rate in our area. Yet she doesn't stop there. She has an initiative, Jewels of Promise, where she works with girls in the inner community many of which are students of hers also. She teaches them life, social, and entrepreneurial skills that will certainly change their lives forever. She has been changing and touching lives, empowering students for over 17 years and I think she is doing an amazing job and will continue to change the lives of others and many children until God lays her to rest. She is a true testament and example of goodness in humanity and works tirelessly to continually change the lives of others in a positive way daily.

Ms. Jones is the most adaptable, fun-loving, hardworking teachers I know. She teaches 3rd grade at A.W. Brown Leadership Academy and as her principal I am honored to have her on the team. She is wonderful and supportive and encourages every scholar. Ms. Jones makes every scholar feel important and takes a personal interest in their success and ensuring she builds their confidence. Ms. Jones has a warm place in my heart as she always has a kind word and warm smile for her colleagues. She is so deserving of this honor that is being bestowed upon her.
