Tabitha Barbee was nominated by her colleague, Lauren Bratcher. 

Ms. Barbee has been teaching and coaching middle school students for 27 years. She is not only an incredible classroom teacher, but an amazing coach. Ms. Barbee is an excellent role model who cares deeply for her students and athletes. Her desire is for students to grow in all areas of their lives, including the classroom.

"Tab is a great example for fellow teachers," Bratcher said. "She's not only willing to help anyone in need, but she is a leader within her department and across campus."

Ms. Barbee is very passionate about teaching Texas History and always goes the extra mile to make learning fun. She has won many awards in her tenure; her last major accomplishment was winning the VFW's Teacher of the Year award last year.

Mrs. Barbee was my daughter’s teacher this past year and is just amazing. She encourages each student to be the best that they can be. She teaches with enthusiasm and makes it fun to learn. She is a very supportive coach as well. This is the teacher that you pray your child has during their formative years! Mrs. Barbee is awesome!!!
