His students trust him and understand that they can talk to him about anything going on in their lives, whether it be school-related or a personal issue. He pushes them past their expectations and helps them succeed in all aspects of their lives.
Mr.Gray has been a vital figure in the lives of many students. I am pleased to say that I was one of his students.

Mr. Gray is an amazing teacher/ person in general. He’s always going out of his way for people and he gives great advice.
Mr.Gray is the most magnificent teacher a student could possibly have. He has taught me and my classmates lots of useful information which we could apply to our life. Therefore, he is charismatic, fun, and a person in which times when a student is having difficulties you can call a friend. He gives advice which most teachers don’t give he understands student. My daughter speaks about Mr. Gray so much, I can see what a great teacher he is. I am so glad my daughter has a teacher she feels comfortable with. Not only is she learning, but I am learning as well by her coming home to tell me all the interesting things she learned in his class. This teacher is absolutely special he is one of the best teachers that have taught me because when I ask him a question, even though its not class related he tries the best to help me.

Mr. Gray is an amazing teacher. Super funny, always makes the class fun but also makes sure you learn the material you need. In these few months in his class he’s already by far the best teacher i’ve ever had & my favorite at that.

Mr. Gray is by far, easily one of my favorite teachers that i have ever had throughout any of my schools. He is able to bring so much to the table when it comes to teaching which is something that some teachers lack. He knows when to crack jokes during class and when to get serious during a lesson. He knows how to the students to pay attention to him without having to yell at them which is a trait that a lot of teachers usually lack. Even when i am out of his class and moving into college, i will always remember Mr. Gray and class because that is the type of teacher he is. Mr. Gray is definitely a top-tier teacher and that is why i support him to win Life Changer of the year.

Mr. Gray is one of the most intellectual teachers I’ve ever had. When I’m watching his lectures I’m continuously interested and excited to learn! He’s quite incredible in fact no words can describe how amazing of a teacher/motivator he has been.
He’s currently my teacher and he’s the best teacher I have had in my life to be honest he helps you make your day much better if your in a bad mood he teaches in an incredible manor and it is quite easy to understand.
This guy is one of the best teachers I know he teaches in such a inspirational manner and yet he is quite fun and incorporates learning with fun.

Mr. Gray as shown above is such a life changer he helps me learn in a special way I don’t see very commonly in other teachers. I had him last year so I can tell you, you want him to be your teacher because he is very supportive of his students and motivates them to grow up and be someone.
He’s my favorite teacher in the whole wide world. Quite frankly he’s very creative and teaches in a special way.
These past couple of months in Mr. Gray’s class has been one of the best classes because not only of how he teaches, but also because of just who he is as a person. He has amazing strategies and makes the class itself extremely entertaining. He cares about each and every one of his students to the highest degree. I have Mr. Gray for AP Psychology and let me tell you he is one of best teacher I’ve had my entire life. He’s funny, understanding, and most importantly a great person. If students have problems he can give pretty solutions so we can solve them. Anyone would be lucky to have him as a teacher.

I love coming to Mr. Gray’s class every single day! He welcomes each and every student at the door and never fails to put a smile on our faces. If we are in need of a hand, he’s there. Mr. Gray is one of the best if not the best teacher i’ve ever had in my high school career. He not only prepared us for the Ap psychology exam but he also prepared us to face life head on. Great teacher, has an amazing sense of humor he gives really good advice. I was doing bad in a few of my classes and he was giving advice on how to manage time and get better grades and after doing what he recommended my grade started increasing. I heard many other stories from students about him, most say the classes is hard but they never gave up because Mr. Gray was there with them struggling every step of the way and now me being in his class I can see that those old students of his were exactly right, he won't allow you to give up and he will push you till you make it and that's what makes a great teacher.
Mr,Gray is a great person he was someone open and welcoming enough that i could go to and talk about my day and my overly messed up life, he gave me good advice and now after a year out of high school Im making it through college with the guidance that he provided me and many of his other students I am so thankful to have met you because I can say if I never took AP psych senior year I would not have the mindset that i now have.
Mr gray has shown me how to find methods to study that fit best with my schedule and has also shown me how to be aware of my surroundings and notice change.

Mr. Gray has taught both of my children. They love and respect him. I always know which teachers impact them the most because those teachers are the ones my children tell me about and they relay stories from those classes. Mr. Gray not only provides enormous support in the classroom by teaching the content in a way that enables the students to learn and understand, he provides life lessons and support as a mentor. The students know that Mr. Gray truly cares for them and they love him as a teacher and a person. Mr Gray provides a class room environment that is conducive to learning and allows the students to feel safe, respected, and comfortable so that they are able to communicate and be themselves without feeling judged. My children and I feel very fortunate that that they have had Mr. Gray as an instructor and he has impacted them as well as his students in a positive way.
Though, I've only had Mr. Gray for only a short period of time, I can already tell that I'm going to learn all the materials I need to be successful on my AP test. Whether it's his funny experiments or his lectures where he always incorporates his experiences which make the topic understandable, it seems like I always enjoy his classes. He is a great teacher.

Throughout my four years of high school I have heard many positive things about Mr.Gray. As a student, I never believed that a teacher could have such a great impact on a students life. Not only did I hear positive things about his teaching but I also heard positive things about his personal connection with student. This year, as a senior, I was fortunate enough to have him as a teacher for AP Psychology. In the short four months that I have known him he has been an amazing teacher. He is the only teacher I know that is able to have the entire classes attention for the whole 50 minutes of class. He is able to make class fun and interactive all while gathering information about the course. Not only have I learned so much in the past four months about psychology but I have also learned about the kind of person he is. He is considerate of his students, kind and he truly cares. Personally, I have been able to talk to him as a trusting adult. He is one of the few adults at school I trust and can talk to if I need to talk to someone. Not only did he make me feel comfortable and give me great advice but every once in a while he checked up on me. I have never met a teacher as truly caring as Mr.Gray. I will never forget his class or him. He deserves this award and so much more.
In these past couple of months, I come to notice that Mr. Gray is an extraordinary teacher. He carries all the great qualities that a student hopes to see in a teacher and I can say I as his student sees it. His classroom becomes just like a second home to many students. He carries himself with such humility and kindness. And I can say he is the most funniest teacher I’ve ever had. I’ve never seen a teacher teach like he does. He teaches us both the components of psychology and also how to become a better person and how to be exceptional in our own unique way. Therefore, I can say I am so honored and happy to have him as my teacher. And I can also say I am looking forward to this school year as his student and that his class will always be a class I will alwayss remember.
I used to help tutor some AVID students in Mr. Gray's class years ago, and although I never had him as a teacher I could tell that he is wonderful at his job. The bond he has with his students is notable, and his kind personality shines. I wish him the best in life!

Not only have we learned about psychology but we have also learned about life and we have been taught life lessons. I love Mr. Gray , he's a wonderful psychology teacher a and great friend. In his class were not only learning but we also experiencing everything we learned in class . I remembered in freshman year he was my world history teacher , we were learning about word war .We actually learned and experienced by playing a world war 1 ( like a game) . History is not my favorite subject but i still remember everything about the war ; trough this day . Because of his great method to teach .

I came into Mr. Gray's AP Psychology class a few days after the first day of school after a chaotic couple of days in and out of the guidance office, competing with hundreds of other children to try and get a schedule change out of a class I had already taken. Although I had heard nothing but glowing commentary on how great Mr. Gray was, I was still afraid of being judged for showing up to a (gasp) AP class after the school year was well under way (5 days under way, to be exact). However, the exact opposite was true. I have never felt more welcomed anywhere else! Mr. Gray is not only a brilliant and ambitious teacher, but more importantly a sincere and reliable person. The amount of things I have learned, even only just a third of the way into the school year, are endless--and everyone I know can relate. I cannot wait to see how much future students will be changed and inspired by him, just like I am experiencing right now. Thank you, Mr. Gray!

First day of school I walk into the class and I am greeted with a warm smile and also a cheerful "good afternoon." I felt a little warm welcome on the first day and felt appreciated. Everyday i feel appreciated and a warm welcome as I step into class. Mr.Gray is a very talented teacher, a good peer, and always smiling. In class he teaches us using examples by making the class laugh, which we can retain our information easy. In all, Mr.Gray has taught me lessons from school related lesson t life lessons which actually help me and other students to make an impact to today's society.

Students receive a challenging but easy to follow along environment, school admins are pleased as they receive some of the best scores in the school. Furthermore, Mr.Grey is honestly happy to interact with the students he has ( You can tell by his jokes and approach to things).If this award is truly based on merit and a teacher's contribution, no one besides Mr.Grey will do it justice.

His humor, mixed with his love of psychology, really shows through when he talks to us about certain subjects. Mr. Grey is an amazing teacher, and a person. Whenever come to his class he was at the door ready to greet every passing students with a happy smile and a "how you doing?" and for some people it does not mean much but to me that's a whole mood changer. When I go to his class upset somehow he notice and make some gesture and that makes me feel better. It does not surprise me that Jimmy has been nominated for this award. I had the privilege of coaching him at West HS. When he
graduated college he came onboard as an assistant coach. He was a special player, but not till he started coaching did I see his special ability to relate to our athletes and students. No matter what the background of the individual, he was able to connect in a positive way. I moved on to administration and was able to hire Jim as the head coach. First and best hire I ever made. His teams were among the best in our state. Not a screamer he lead and coached by example. I have not seen or spoke to Jimmy in a long time, but this nomination does not surprise me. Myself and the West High community are proud of what Jimmy has accomplished. If he gets this award or not, Jimmy will not change he will always be true to himself, his students and never forget were he came from.
While playing high school soccer for 'Coach Gray', he always had the respect of his players. A true leader is someone who doesn't just tell you, but also shows you. The best memories I have of 'Coach Gray' were in practice.... as soon as he noticed that we weren't working to our full potential, he would join practice, smash in a couple brilliant goals to show us who's boss and, naturally, we were all forced to raise the bar! Over the past 14 years of encountering a surplus of different teachers and professors throughout my educational journey, Mr.Gray truly stands out from all of them. Mr. Gray has been one of those teachers who has made such an impact on me and will forever remember. When I took his class my junior year, I hadn't had a clue what I wanted to do with my life, being so close to college. I was at a point in my life where it took a lot for me to stay focused in school because I was so lost on what I wanted to study. After taking AP Psychology with him, not only did I find the field I wanted to pursue, which is to study child psychology, I left the class learning more and becoming a better person. I found myself getting excited to go to his class and learn what he had to teach that day because of the impact he left. He was more than just a teacher, but someone who has full passion in leaving an impact on the kids that walk in his classroom. As a freshman in college I still find myself telling my friends, "remember when Mr. Gray said," in a lot of my conversations. I still go by his words and his lessons as it was more than just teaching psychology, it was about teaching us how to view the world and be a better person. He has given me confidence and has taught me so much. This is the true definition of what a teacher is, and when I'm older and wanted to teach, I can only hope to be half the teacher he is.
Mr. Gray changed my life! I stepped into his classroom feeling alone, despondent, and like I was not worth anyone’s time. Mr. Gray encouraged my to take a step outside my comfort zone and pushed me to become the best version of myself. He is an incredible mentor that cares so much about his students. I’ve been on many sports teams throughout my life but have never had a coach who taught me so many valuable lessons not only on but off the court. Coach Grey taught me that if you believe you can succeed, you will succeed. When he told me that, he was referring to scoring in a game or defending but I applied it to my personal life too. When I question my ability to succeed I think of what Coach Grey taught me and always try and go in with a positive attitude.

I worked for several years with Mr. Gray - and he’s easily one of the best I’ve ever worked with. He is truly in this profession to improve the lives of any child who walks in his classroom. Mr. (Coach) Gray was my soccer coach and mentor for my four years of high school. My teammates and I used to always say that coach wasn’t just a regular type of coach who stood by the sidelines yelling at us what to do during the game. He had a very particular way of teaching- guidance with room for independence. He taught us the right skills to prepare us, and then during the game he expected us to apply what he taught us and make our own decisions (and I know he used this method with his students and daughters as well).
Overall, Mr. Gray is a role model to all of us. I specifically admire the way he balances out his responsibilties and passion and somehow still finds a way to make sure he is happy with whatever he is involved in. Finding meaning and satisfaction in whatever we do Is something Mr. Gray has instilled in me and a value that I will try to pursue throughout my life. Mr. Gray is one of the best teacher I ever had. He is so caring! When you go to his class he actually cares about you. Most teacher just come for a pay check and they don’t really help you succeed. Some of them don’t even remember your name. He stands at the door and say hello and it’s not just a fake hello, it’s genuine. I find that to be one of the best qualities a teacher should have. Grade is important but Mr. Gray focuses first on our well being than grade comes after. His class may have work but it’s the one class you don’t want to miss. While every other class may be depressing and boring his class is just refreshing even if sometimes the materials being taught that day is hard, just being in the environment takes a huge weight of your shoulders. At the end of the year, he wrote us notes and says what he appreciate or what was unique about us. It made me feel cared for. Sometimes you wouldn’t feel like doing the work but his compassion and caring for you makes you change your mind as you wouldn’t want to disappoint him. He is a life changer and you can talk to him about anything. You wouldn’t feel uncomfortable as you know he will keep an open hear. My uttermost favorite thing is that every student has the same treatment. There’s no honors, regular, AP, or anything titled student in his class. Often time, when students are given labels we feel pressure to meet a certain quota or we don’t push forward because we are not “honors” and so on. In his class we all are capable students who are learning. He knows his students so well that if you’re having a bad day, you don’t have to be crying your eyes out he’ll notice and ask you what’s wrong. I have never had many teachers like Mr. Gray, he is unique more ways than I can describe.

Out of all the soccer coaches I’ve had in my life, Coach Gray has been my favorite. Not only is he an excellent coach that motivates us to do our best on the field, but off the field as well. Whether we’re winning or losing a game, coach always tell us to “Stay Classy from start to finish.” If you miss a shot, or personally as a keeper,let a ball in, the famous “unlucky, good try” from coach allows the players to pick their head up and continue playing knowing coach is proud. Mr. Gray is not just another teacher. When you enter his classroom, you are filled with joy and excitement to actually learn. He cares for and dedicates his time to each and everyone one of his students. His passion for teaching shows before you even walk into his room as he greets you at the door. Although tough, his lectures give you a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you. Even students who had no interest in school had joy in their eyes as they sat down in his classroom. I, personally, would not be the same without having taken his AP psychology class my junior year. I would not have chosen the path to become a marriage and family counselor and would not even have the same life-long friends right now if it weren't for that very class and the excitement he put into it. Mr. Gray is not only one of the most intelligent teachers I’ve met, but by far one of the most compassionate. To be able to connect with students and make them feel safe enough to open up about their most personal problems is not an easy task amongst high schoolers, and almost every student to have ever sat in his classroom could say they feel enough trust to be able to confide in him. Mr. Gray taught me more than what any textbook or lesson plan could, he taught me and my classmates lessons about life, and how to be more open, caring and understanding people to the world around us. Over three years later after having his class, and I still can recall certain classes and things he said when dealing with my every day obstacles. Even when I visit him now, he still shows the same faith in my ability to conquer any task I take on, and I will be forever grateful for having met him.
When I was a junior in high school, I was enrolled in Mr. Gray’s AP Psychology course. In November of that school year, my best friend was murdered (I was 16) and my life was instantly changed and I was distraught, I was lost. Mr. Gray was one of the teachers who reached out to me, who checked on me constantly to make sure I was doing okay. He spoke to me privately before and after classes, during lunches, in the hallways. He let me vent, he let me cry and he was patient with me as I worked through my anger and confusion. He genuinely changed my life and personally helped me through something no one, especially not a child, should have to experience. If anyone deserves this award, it’s him. We love you Mr. Gray!

Mr. Gray is easily one of the best teachers on campus at Santaluces. He has impacted me so much this past year with his way of understanding that students may have other responsibilities and other stress. He gave every student the chance to succeed. He cares about each and every one of his students and spent 150% of his time and energy making sure we were all prepared for the AP exam. He cares about everyone doing well in his class, and out of his class. He understood my work and school schedule was rough and would give me the chance to makeup my work. He’s genuine, funny, caring, and overall an amazing person AND teacher. He’s great at what he does. I never feel judged when I enter his class but I don’t think anyone really does because he is everyone’s go-to for any problems or venting. He’s motivated me so much this past year and impacted me in such a positive way that all I can say is thank you for all the kind words I’ve heard from him. Thank you for being not only a great teacher, but a great person (and a great person to talk about soccer with).

He cares deeply for his students as if they’re apart of his family and always provides assistance for anyone that needs it. Mr. Gray is the most charismatic teacher I have ever had. No matter what, he is always looking out for his students no matter your performance in his class. Mr. Gray truly cares about his students, if you are having a bad day and need someone to talk to you can always go to his room or go on a walk around campus and talk about anything. Mr. Gray never sees your outside appearance and takes it for who you are, he takes the time to get to know you. Even if you don’t like Psychology and don’t care about the class you want to do good for him and make an effort because if you put the effort in he will make it worth your while.

Since the start of the year, I noticed that Mr. Gray had a connection to his students different than any I’d seen before in my journey in education. He cares very deeply for each and every one of his student’s wellbeing- it shows through his calm, understanding demeanor and willingness to make comprimises for those who are struggling in some facet of life. He teaches in a way that makes content very easy to recall, as he frames information in a way that connects to information already relevant to students. He’s very patient, but encourages students to push themselves to grow and cultivate their already-present skills. He’s one of the kindest teachers on my campus, and has a brilliant mind.

He has such a big heart and cares so much for everyone . Mr. Gray was my AP Psychology teacher just this year actually. Though my time with him has been short in comparison to others, he has changed my life in a way only some people can. I don't see him as a teacher, I see him as a friend, someone I can confide in and someone who will take the time out of their day to listen to me, and put in the effort to establish a deep and meaningful connection with not only myself, but his other students. He is a very considerate and understanding individual and is willing to help students that feel they cannot balance all the tests they have by rescheduling to allow more time. He always knows when to lighten the mood and when it's time to be serious which to me makes him a phenomenal teacher because he does so with such poise and excellence. My sister, Socaena, had told me so join his class and I was so close to taking Psychology as one of my dual enrollment classes at the college, but I am so happy I never did because I never would have met somebody like him. He is, to me, not only an amazing teacher, but an amazing friend, and I couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you for being you Mr. Gray.

He is incredibly knowledgeable about the subjects he teaches, and he ensures that every single student has the ability to succeed in his class. If a student has multiple tests on a single day, he will quickly move to postpone his test in order to prevent the student from being overwhelmed that day. At the beginning of the school year I was very skeptical of taking psychology. I felt that I was not going to enjoy the class nor like Mr. Gray. Shortly after I knew that was a mistake. Mr. Gray is honestly the best teacher I have had during high school. He’s incredibly compassionate and thoughtful. Not to mention he has a great sense of humor. Mr. Gray was a teacher at our school several years ago. Our loss was Santalues Community High School's gain. Shamelessly, each year I ask him to come back to teach at our school. Mr. Gray is a gifted teacher and an amazing soccer coach. His commitment to students goes well beyond the classroom. The students appreciate him as a teacher and love him as a coach.
Mr. Gray is one of the best teachers that I have ever had. He is so understanding and he is a teacher that actually cares. He has this way of knowing when something is wrong and makes sure to ask you if you are okay. Mr. Gray is a teacher who is always available to talk to. He uses his lunch time to have "therapy" time with his students who are going through tough times. Mr.Gray also works with Kids schedule he schedules tests around other teachers tests so the kids dont have to take multiple tests in one day, and if someone is have a rough day they can pull him to the side and have a discussion with him and depending on the case they will receive a chance to take the test on a different day. Mr. Gray is an overall great person and teacher, I dont know everyone who is running for this award but I know that nobody is as great of a person as Mr. Gray. Mr. Gray is such a great person and it would be really shocking if anybody else wins this award.
Mr. Gray is like one of the only authentic teachers in our local community high school. He displays positive and sincere throughout ut the years. From his New York swag to his bonafide tie he's showing support to us, students. He attends are sports meets and games every season. For instance; he attends the varsity baseball team game against our rival school were we became superior to them. He also gives great advice on academics and other personal things. Mr. Gray is like the cool uncle of the school. Not only is his personality staggering but he is a good teacher. He works with us students for us the understand the lesson not just for a paycheck. He allows us student to include are input and feel involved with the lesson. Mr. Gray is a vitality educator and cares deeply about is students.
I never had the chance to have Mr.Gray as a teacher,yet, I wouldn't hesitate to nominate any other teacher in Palm Beach County for this award. Mr.Gray not only welcomes his students but the entire population of Santaluces High School, into his classroom. My first encounter with Mr.Gray was the introduction to his well known Psychology class. He made one of the most memorable first impressions I've seen in my short lifetime. He impacts the entire chief community because of how commonly recognizable and impactful he is in Santaluces. Although, if you never had Mr.Gary's class, you have recognized the mans name and his legacy.

Although I've only had a year with Mr. Gray as my teacher, he has shown me more values than most of my teachers over the past years have. He taught me to be the kindest I can be. I truly admire how he takes time from his planning period or lunch, to talk with a student that may be going through a rough patch. His door is always open, and he has made that very clear to us. When lecturing, he always finds a way to connect with us. I can sincerely say that he has a personal connection with almost all of his students. Although I've never mentioned this to him, I notice how he walks around the room while we're doing our work and tries to talk to everyone at least once. He hates excluding a student and I believe this is why he does this. When he feels like he is in the wrong, he will immediately apologize, something many teachers never do.
Overall, he first introduced himself as our friend and confident, and later as our teacher. I would had never pushed myself out of my comfort zone if it wasn't for Mr. Gray. He will forever be someone I remember even after my high school days.

Mr. Gray is an extremely inspirational teacher who goes out of his way to motivate his students. He gives 110% ALL of the time, always giving it his all. I couldn’t have succeeded in Psychology with any other teacher, and it’s all because of him. For example, the day after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting, we just sat calmly and he allowed us share our opinions, comments, feelings, and explained to us the well thought out plan in the case we experience an event similar, which is a conversation that didn't happen in any of my other classes. He told us that we are his priority because his life has been fulfilled and he's done all he wanted to, so he'd do his best to protect us. This made me realize even more so how he cares for us. Beyond just learning about psychology, I've learned so much about the real world during the time we've had with Mr. Gray, more than any class I've taken. Things I will actually be able to apply to my life to better myself and relationships I have with others. I've also laughed more in his class than any other which made learning material that much more enjoyable and also made things easier to remember. Mr. Gray is the most deserving person and mentor for this award and has made the lives of all of his students a brighter place.
I have worked with Jmes Gray for the past several years, but this year I was fortunate to team up with him as an AVID teacher. Together we worked with the seniors that he has had for 4 years. I have been able to see the impact that he has had on all of his AVID students. They will be successful because of him always caring enough to listen to them and guiding them in the right direction. I have seen the imipact he has had on his psychology students that he has had for only one year. He truely cares about his students. They trust him and he always lives up to that trust. He is a very special teacher and everyone who comes in contact with him is a better person.

I was James’ guidance counselor during his high school years at West High in Manchester. Only Seth Meyers has proved as inspiring among students served in my career.
At 14 years of age, James was already the person sought out for insight and compassion by peers, the quiet worldly type who seemed to understand struggle as the essence of growth. A committed athlete, James was a star soccer player whose humility never permitted use of the first person possessive singular “I” but glorified instead his teammates and the group effort.
His role in pursuing the student-centered paradigm in education saw our paths cross in NYC in 2011 as young and old educators shared progress notes, with James representing NYC’s history-themed high school, and I serving New Hampshire’s Extended Learning model. I was unsurprised to see James’ smiling face approach me with an extended hand.
I remain honored to have shared time and change agency with this quiet hero. May the world’s young follow his example.

I was fortunate enough to be in Mr. Gray’s AP Psychology class and I can honestly say I’ve never met a teacher like him. He’s one person on campus at my school that I can go to if I need help with anything whether it be schoolwork or my personal life. He truly has made such an impact in not only my life but others as well because of the strong connection he has created with his students. Mr. Gray is one of the best teacher I’ve had for psychology. He really helps us connect with the lessons that would normally be boring and makes them exciting. He also goes out of his way to accommodate for students who truly struggle with the class or completing the work. For example he allowed me to take test I missed in the week I was hospitalized with no penalty. Also Mr. Gray is honestly a kind a funny teacher. He deserves to be recognized for the immensely positive impact he leaves on his students.

Truly deserved. Mr. Gray is the most kind-hearted, patient & charismatic teacher there is. There wasn’t a time when I was in need & Mr. Gray didn’t help me out. I’m so happy that I got to experience him as a teacher this year.

I have known James Gray for years— and although, I never had him as a school teacher— I always looked at him as a role model— a Super Human being. When we were kids he took time to teach me how to break dance, and show me how to manipulate the soccer ball to get past the opponent. He is a naturally gifted teacher, both in and out of school. I was so lucky to have him as a teacher my freshman year and if I wouldn’t have left I would’ve loved to continue having him as a teacher . He was wonderful not just as teaching but as a person . He is so kind and caring towards others . No matter what we did everything was educational or helpful towards workmanship &’ team work . James Gray is one of the smartest, kindest, and hard-working teachers out there. I've seen his lessons plans and heard the results. They are downright clever and altogether inspirational. Indeed, he inspires both students and teachers, myself included. I have learned so much from him.
I’ve know Jimmy, since I was 2 or 3 years old. We were close neighbors and our mothers are best Filipina friends. So you could say, we are cousins. Growing up with Jimmy and his family was always fun. He was very witty and made us laugh a lot. He was great at everything he did, from breakdancing to skateboarding to soccer even to school work. He was always on the honor roll and if I look back in my yearbook, I’m sure he was nominated for “Most Popular” in high school. As I was growing up, I thought I wish I could be good at everything, like Jimmy. Now, as adults, James is still great at what he does. He chose teaching for his career and does that well. Teaching students is such a difficult job. Brad Henry once said, “ A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination and instill a love of learning”. I believe James does this with every class he teaches. The comments above mine are proof of his good work. I hope when the time comes to vote for this distinguished award, you think of James Gray. He truly is a “Lifechanger”.
This nomination does not come as a surprise at all. I have known Jim since he was 13. I was a college student working at a summer camp for kids in Manchester NH. Even at 13 he exhibited many of the attributes his students used to describe his character. He was always polite, authentic, athletic and inclusive of others. If there had been a camper award Jimmy would have been the recipient. He was a great 13 year old, who matured into a great man.

Mr grey is one of the coolest teachers I had and enjoyed during my senior year. He has such a unique personality, he will make you laugh even when your upset. He's not just a good role model as a teacher but also as a dad he always shares lovely experience about his family. He motivates you when you feel down about something ,and challenges you to always do your VERY best.
I have had Mr. Gray all 4 years of my high school career. He has led me through some of the hardest times in my life, and has taught me so many virtues beyond the classroom. He continually teaches us to carry ourselves with pride, to empathize with others, and how to use what may be seen as “disadvantages” as motivation to exceed every expectation that anyone has of us. First there were the years at Facing History in NYC...now your students at Santaluces are benefiting from your expertise as well as the personal support you manage to give to each of your students. Mr. Geat has been one of the most influential people in my whole high school life. He’s someone that can relate to anything his students and kids discuss with him. When I first stepped into Mr. Gray’s classroom, I never knew the impact that he would have on my life. I always heard about how good of a teacher he was but I experienced it for myself when he made the classroom feel like home and made everyday enjoyable. I am forever grateful that I got to have Mr. Gray as a teacher.
Mr. Gray is by far the best teacher I have ever had (besides Mrs. Clifton ofc) but I am not talking just academically. He genuinely cares about the well being of his students and ensures that he does anything and everything possible in order to keep them on track whether it be for their grades or a personal goal they may obtain. He makes sure he knows each student and something about them in order to make them feel important and not like just another name on a roster. He deserves everything and more, as well as his family.
