Germaine Hampton was nominated by his wife, Lekeathia Hampton.
Mr. Hampton is a U.S. History teacher at West Tallahatchie High School in Webb, Mississippi. He teaches a subject where students are required to take state assessments. Before he started working with his students, test scores were at an all-time low. Mr. Hampton worked around the clock to ensure that test scores would improve.
Mr. Hampton's area test-scores were the highest in the district, helping his district's overall score improve from a D rating to a C rating. Because of his efforts, he was named as WTSD's Teacher of the Year in 2016-17. He is a peer mentor, advisor to the Student Government Association, and an afterschool tutor. He is also highly admired by students and fellow faculty members alike.

He not only cares for their education in the classroom, but for their well-being outside of the classroom. He has devoted himself to being a mentor to teenagers in the community, and has proven himself to be a humble, caring, and dedicated leader. Germaine Hampton embodies what it means to be a LifeChanger."
