Sandy Cialoni was nominated by a colleague who wished to remain anonymous.
Ms. Cialoni not only runs the school office; she also recruits and secures high quality substitutes, no matter how short the notice. She often manages this task on her own time from home. Her dedication to Reed can be seen daily in the effort she puts into every task. She works to meet everyone's needs while maintaining a high level of positivity within the office. She greets every individual with a smile.
Her personal strength is the impact and love she has with kids. Reed School is a 2nd and 3rd grade building, and every morning, there is a line of students waiting to get their morning hug from Ms. Cialoni. Upon students leaving the building, there is another line to say good bye. When a student demonstrates high anxiety, Ms. Cialoni jumps in, connecting and nurturing the student to help them cope.
She wears every hat possible, from serving as nurse to copy machine repair, all within a matter of minutes. Her flexibility makes her the perfect professional assistant. Ms. Cialoni is truly a LifeChanger for both the kids and adults that cross her path!
Sandy is so deserving of receiving the LifeChanger Award. She makes Reed School a truly welcoming place for everyone, parents, students, staff alike. She is a real problem solver, no matter what the problem. She always has a smile and is always willing to help, console, hug, listen, whatever the need may be. Reed School is a wonderful place to work or go to school, in large part because of Sandy. Her daughter once said to me,"My mom can do anything." SO TRUE!!! Good luck, Sandy!

I had the privilege of working with Sandy for 10 years. She is respected by staff, parents and colleagues and adored by students. She is always the consummate professional. When treated unkindly by an angry parent or overwhelmed teacher, she remains calm and compassionate. She can multi task better than anyone. She has weathered many administrations, legislative and curriculum changes, and typical and exceptional challenges, always with a calm demeanor and a sense of humor. Sandy Cialoni is a woman who has indeed improved the lives of many!
It is truly difficult to list all the reasons Sandy is qualified to win this award. The top reasons fall under loving, comforting, welcoming. She is the ideal person to greet people into the building, from a scared child at the start of the school year, to a nervous parent waiting to meet about their child. She welcomes the littlest visitor with a smile or a hug and with a chance to talk to someone about anything that they need to talk about. Teachers and other faculty are also on that welcome list. Whether it is to share a fun moment, grab a caring hug, or just vent, Sandy is always there. I have sent students down to have their glasses fixed, zippers unstuck, or temperature taken. All is done with precision and a smile! Comforting ANYONE, young to old, student, parent or faculty, Sandy is there...always. Lifechanger...perfect title for this dynamo!

Sandy is truly the best LifeChanger I know! Among her many administrative duties she finds time to take on anything and everything that is thrown her way. She fixes broken zippers and buttons not only on the students but the staff too! She has to step up and be a doctor and a dentist. She has held a puke bucket and she has sopped up blood. She has even pulled dangling teeth without flinching. No demand is to big for Sandy! She always does it smiling! I have never seen her in a bad mood. Even if she doesn't feel good, she still manages to keep the spirit of those around her strong! Students love her because she can always make their day better. She's the magical link to call home and get that forgotten lunch or homework. Parent's appreciate that Sandy is the one getting that important message to their child about what to do or where to go after school. The staff admires Sandy for all her talents! We are all sincerely grateful that Sandy is the LifeChanger that she is because she makes Reed School a better place to learn and work!

Sandy demonstrates exceptional professionalism at all times- everyday with everyone. She will go above and beyond to help solve the smallest to biggest problems that occur during the school day.
