Mccall Grosso was nominated by Wesley Peterson, a member of her community.

Mrs. Grosso is a Relay for Life co-captain, student council sponsor, and is involved in various extracurricular activities at her school. In early 2013, she was named 'Teacher of the Year' at North Gwinnett High School.

"She's plugged in with her students, and she is a phenomenal teacher in the classroom," said Ed Shaddix. "She's definitely made North Gwinnett better, and we're fortunate to have her."

Mrs. Grosso was also Peterson's 9th and 10th grade teacher.

"She changed the course of my life and opened my eyes to the possibilities of my true potential," Peterson said.

Mrs. Grosso is an amazing teacher/person, and I feel lucky that I graduated from the school she teaches at. She makes an effort to get to know students who aren't even in her classes, and she truly cares about the well being of all the students who attend North Gwinnett High School. If you ask any student at North Gwinnett they all know who Mrs. Grosso is because she has made such a huge impact on the community there. She is caring, compassionate, motivational, and sees the best in everyone. She is a great role model for the students at the school, and she is a phenomenal teacher. There isn't anyone who is more deserving to receive the Lifechanger award because she truly changes the lives of students everyday.

Mrs. Grosso is without a doubt one of the greatest teachers I have ever come in contact with. As a freshman at one of the biggest high schools in the area, life could get pretty overwhelming. She made me feel welcomed and safe the instant I walked in her room the day of freshmen orientation. She made learning fun again, and I will forever appreciate her for that. Aside from her amazing teaching skills, she is also a fabulous mentor and has an incredible ability to connect to ALL of her students, which is truly astounding given the diversity of the school she is at. After freshmen year, our friendship continued to grow. We started school at 7:10am, and I would come 30 minutes early every morning just to spend time in her classroom. She has been there for me during all of the good times and bad times. I am forever thankful for the impact she has had on my life, and I can only imagine how many more lives she is going to change throughout her career.

Had her my 9th and 10th grade years. Always so happy, supportive, and helpful. She still keeps in touch with me about my accomplishments and life, and I always love hearing from her. I know there are tons more that she does that for. She’s a positive influence in hundreds of kids’ lives every single day, I don’t know how you can be more of a life changer than that.
