Shannon Daniels was nominated by a colleague who wished to remain anonymous.

Ms. Daniels is driven by an urgent sense of purpose for all children. As a member of her community, she has dedicated herself to providing families and students with resources well beyond the call of a teacher. She provides physical and monetary resources to families in need. Additionally, she gets to know all students personally and takes the toughest students under her wing. She is loved by all students and is a favorite teacher of many.

In the classroom, Ms. Daniels understands what the population of rural, low-income students needs to be successful, and she ensures that all students and families have the resources necessary for success. She has a continual ear to the ground and is a confidant who advises administration and faculty about students and families' unique and adverse situations so the school can appropriately respond. Throughout her time as an educator in the district, she has directly assisted an enormous number of individuals and has been a game changer for an untold number of students.

I have known Shannon for over two decades and she is as good as they can get in the profession of teaching, as a co-worker, and as a champion for ALL of her students. I know that she takes great care of those who struggle, but she also challenges those who will and can succeed. Her classroom is a well organized and inviting place for students to learn. She builds a supportive, learning environment for her students as well as engages them in their content for 7th grade. She gives of her time ALWAYS and very rarely does she say no!
