Tromane Harris was nominated by his colleague, Edward Lamar.
Mr. Harris is a new addition to Attucks Middle School, where he has made a profound difference in the lives of his students. He has devoted his personal time to changing his students' character, as well as the school climate.
Mr. Harris made it his personal goal to spend time with kids who are headed in the wrong direction. He helps channel their frustrations and emotions through the beauty of art and culture. He teaches his students how art can benefit their own life.
Mr. Harris also coaches a group of eighth grade boys as the Head Coach in football. He led them to an undefeated season!
"Coach Harris has not only made an impact on the students, but the teachers," Lamar said. "He places emphasis on developing a growth mindset, where all things are possible and that we should never given up on any student."
