Lisa Cobb was nominated by her colleague, Noey Meza.
Mrs. Cobb is a veteran science educator who is now in her 15th year in education. She has served as a science teacher, math & science facilitator, Assistant Principal for Instruction, science specialist, and is currently a Biomedical Science teacher and System Course Leader for Biology and AP Biology in Harmony Public Schools.
Mrs. Cobb has taught all kinds of science for students in grades 6-12, except for AP Chemistry and Environmental science. Her impact does not stop with her students, but extends to mentoring peers at the school, district and state levels. She gives her time to extracurricular activities, coordinating Science Olympiad and HOSA groups for the campus, as well as coordinating the annual science fair and STEM festival.
"Mrs. Cobb believes that all students and adults have the capacity to learn and are entitled to have outstanding, relevant, thought-provoking opportunities to advance their understanding of the world," Meza said. "This is her living goal, to bring experiences to her students that teach them how to think, make decisions, and communicate in order to enable them to grow into relevant, competent, and community minded members of society."
