I have had the privilege to work with Shaunte earlier in her career. She is truly an incredible woman. Throughout her career she has continued to grow in leadership, knowledge, skill, determination and a true passion for learning. Morris can brighten every room she walks into with her generous smile. It is an honor to know her. She is very deserving for this award.
Awesome leader! Her creativeness and dedication makes going to school more of an experience for the kids and the staff versus just regular school. I'm not in education but she makes me wish I was or that my son would have been under her leadership. You can truly tell she is very passionate about her students and staff. The school needed a caring compassionate leader to take my place and she fit all the characteristics. I had the great opportunity to teach on the same team as Mrs. Morris many years ago. She always amazed me by her dedication to her students and to her school. She is one of those people who gives 100% in whatever she does, be it school, friends, or family. She looks for the positive things in all, no matter what. Now as a specialist who serves her campus, I know that I can turn to her to help me solve any problem that arises. She is a dynamo. The package may be small, but the impact is HUGE. Cunningham is so very blessed to have her back "home". Her love of CMS and her students knows no bounds.

From community leaders to parents to cafeteria workers to custodians to teachers to administration, they all have something to give. They are all experts in some area. Being a mother herself, she encourages her professionals to treat every child as they would want their child to be treated. She shows everyone respect and empowers each and every individual to be a leader as we all encounter students throughout the day. We are one team in the game of building future leaders. Mrs. Morris is the head coach that find ways to build her team, giving them the courage and confidence to attack any task. Mrs. Morris trust her team members to make right decisions. People will forget what you said, what you done, but will not forget how you made them feel. Ms. Morris is a wonderful woman that made my feel comfortable and capable under her leadership. She motivated me to think positive thoughts, that generated positive feelings, and created positive results.
Mrs. Morris goes above and beyond for those she serves. She is a cheerleader on dark days, she rallies the troops when people in her community are in need, as she did during Hurricane Harvey and she follows through on her promises! I am so proud to call her my friend!
Mrs. Morris is a phenomenal principal and inspiration to all. I had the pleasure of working with her for several years as her assistant principal at Galena Park Middle School. I can say her ability to motivate staff and students is top notch. Her passion and drive to make students successful was exhibited through her her vision for the campus. Mrs. Morris made several needed instructional changes to our campus that were beneficial to the growth and gains our campus has made as an whole. To name a few, we began a structured common planning framework that guided the planning process with specialists, she expressed her desire to have a “Zoom Room” for all our teachers to be able to post and discuss student data as a team and department. Teachers were asked to post clear and understandable Data Walls in their classrooms to show student progress or regression. Teachers were also expected to have key conversations with students individually so students knew what the plan was for them. Mrs. Morris is also one of the most generous people I know. She has a way about her that makes others feel special. She has never forgotten a staff members birthday, she consistently offered a helping hand to students and staff in need, and she genuinely cared for us all. It gives me great pride to support Mrs. Morris in her nomination for her Life Changer of the Year nomination.

I have been knowing Shaunte for over 25 years, we attending CMS and North Shore High School together, class of 1993. I proud of my Classmate for the hard work and time she has given to our community.
My grandmother is 99 years and a long tax payer of GPISD, she will tell you, how hard it is for Black women to be leaders.

Mrs. Morris is an exceptional educator. I had the pleasure of having all 3 of my kids influenced by her. She is compassionate to the kids as well as her staff, she constantly comes up with unique ideas to motivate them. She has definitely earned the nomination but truly deserves the award.

I had the pleasure of supervising Mrs. Morris for 8 years while I worked at Cunningham Middle School. I noticed her potential to be a great educator immediately during her first year teaching as a 7th grade Math teacher. Listening to my daughters talk about the big difference from last year to this year is exciting. They discuss how she's always in the halls talking and motivating the kids.
