Glenda Warner was nominated by a colleague who wished to remain anonymous.

Ms. Warner is a very special teacher. She has been a Health Science Instructor at the H.B. Swofford Career Center for the past 20 years.

Ms. Warner came to Swofford as a registered nurse with fifteen years of experience in the field. She has since earned a Masters’ Degree in School Administration and National Board Certification. Instead of taking her summers off, she works in the hospital to keep her skills up to date. She has dedicated her life to helping others. She is a strong role model, not only for the thousands of students she has taught, but for her fellow teachers as well. Her dedication to her profession and to others has not gone unnoticed. She was voted Teacher of the Year in her first year of teaching, as well as two more times in her twenty-year tenure.

Ms. Warner heads up biannual blood drives, sponsors several families every Christmas, captains the Relay-for-Life team, helps with the Canned Food Drive every year, does several mission trips each year, and always volunteers to teach homebound students, along with many other selfless adventures.

"Ms. Warner is simply the biggest LifeChanger I know. Thanks to her, many patients will feel love and care from a dedicated and well trained medical professional," the nominator said. "She is, and always has been, the most caring and devoted teacher I have ever met. She always goes above and beyond to know her students and to meet the needs of each and every one of them."

Glenda Warner has always been the most loving and caring friend that I've have ever known. She has a positive impact on everyone she meets. I've known Glenda for 50 years and I can't think of anyone that deserves this award more than she does. She is always positive, even in the worst situations. Mrs. Warner {Glenda}, worked in the Middle East for several years, she has been on mission trips, raised two wonderful children and is a grandmother of five grandchildren. Even though we live miles away, I always call Glenda for any medical advise and she is "spot on" with the correct advise! I'm so proud that she was nominated and even if she doesn't receive the award, Glenda Warner is my Life Changer!

I know Glenda as a friend and a colleague. She never takes no for an answer trying to solve a students needs. There is never a student that she does not see their " good" and teaches them by the way she cares and loves her clients .If a student is in need, she finds a way to Bring us together to " let's do it ladies". I have known her during good life and struggles , always her family and others came first. I admire her ability to challenge students and her peers to work hard and make their dreams reality by demonstration and perseverance, all the while helping them move forward. I most admire Glenda for the deep and abiding belief and Faith that she has for her Lord. She Prays for us all and we feel that strength .Im not sure what all I should say. I just know if she called on me to " come, we have someone to help" I would walk that journey, and never doubt that our Faith would take us through with a strong, honest, ethical woman, who became a wonderful Nurse. Thank you Glenda Warner for understanding that a nurse must think on her feet, and many shifts, fly ( successfully ) by the ' seat of our pants'. I am honored to be your friend in life and work. God Bless You Always. LOVE YOU FRIEND. Jap

I became a nurse because of this wonderful woman. She helped me through my classes and even helped me when I needed an emergency baby sitter during college. She has changed my life for the better and taught me a lot about my own worth and how to truly appreciate myself and others. Love you Mrs Warner!

I feel sad about this life changer of the year award. Not sad for Mrs.Warner nor myself. Sad for everyone who doesn't have the chance to see Mrs Warner every work day. For she is my work mom. For me it's a life changer everyday not just one year. Very grateful to work with this lady everyday ! Truly a blessing.

Definitely the most encouraging and energetic women I've ever met. When you enter her classroom, she greets you with a welcoming smile. She teaches a challenging course, but always strives to do her best to help her students succeed. She truly cares for her students and colleagues she surrounds her self with!

Absolutely the most inspiring teacher I ever had! She has such a beautiful and strong heart for the nursing profession and for patients. She doesn't just teach nursing, she teaches compassionate caregiving in a way that textbooks can't. To have had her at the very start of my medical career was a true blessing that I am still thankful for daily! Thank you Mrs. Warner for all you have done and will continue to do.
