Amy Bogardus was nominated by her friend, Deb Mullen.
Ms. Bogardus goes above and beyond every day at Tunbridge Central School. She is a dedicated and caring teacher who always puts the needs of the children first. She works with her students, teaching them about certain needs that some children may have. Together, they work towards giving all children a chance to participate whenever possible. Ms. Bogardus has even modified equipment to allow children with disabilities to participate in class activities. She guides her group each school year, and it is always a positive experience.
"I have seen the children and how they interact with her, and the closeness that they feel," Mullen said. "Amy is a teacher first, then a coach, a counselor and a parent. She takes her job every seriously and is constantly working to make sure she has all the tools she needs to do the best that she can for her students, school and the community."
