Javier Chaparro was nominated by a member of his community, Deborah Johnson.
Mr. Chaparro is one of those educators who has committed his entire life to supporting students that may not have the best home life. He has gone above and beyond to take students under his wing, mentor them, and show them love and compassion.
His motto is: "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit" -Aristotle
"Mr Chaparro is a shining example of positive influence and leadership in our community, and we are so proud of him," Johnson said.
He always had a smile on his face and he always had time to listen.
A mentor, a leader, and a great boss- these attributes define Javier Chaparro. While there were more hurdles than I could count during my first year of teaching last year, Mr. Chaparro stepped up and helped me as best as he could. In my time knowing him, Javier Chaparro has lived by the motto that he repeats on every one of his emails, on every one of his slideshows, and often, in person: "Compliance -> Commitment -> Excellence -> Let's make it happen!". Mr. Chaparro has shown that he isn't only in charge of running a school; instead, Mr. Chaparro is in charge of molding a family, of making sure that the needs of staff, students, faculty, and the greater community are met. I wholeheartedly recommend Mr. Chaparro for the Lifechanger of the Year Award.
Congratulations Mr. Chaparro on your accomplishment. You are an asset to Seagoville Middle School. You are an amazing leader.
I, wholeheartedly, support Javier Chaparro for the Lifechanger of the Year Award! I first met Mr. Chaparro when I was a counselor at Spruce HS in Dallas, TX and he was an Assistant Principal there. I knew from the first day I met him that he was a true leader, a person who cared about and respected not only teachers, but, also, students and parents, as well. He showed his caring on a daily basis in trying to convince students not to fight each other, guiding them instead to channel their energies into positive areas, such as playing soccer. Many students continue, to this day, to be active in the sport, as a result of his encouragement. Teachers were also encouraged by him. I remember a first year teacher who was in tears after receiving a not-so-positive evaluation from another assistant principal. She came to me saying she was going to submit her resignation at the end of the first semester. Because I knew she was a diamond in the rough, I asked Mr. Chaparro if he would work with her and give her guidance in her class performance, even though she was under someone else's supervision. He spent a great deal of time coaching her the rest of the year in how she could improve and as a result of Mr. Chaparro's encouragement, a young teacher was saved from leaving the teaching profession. After I retired two years ago, Mr. Chaparro was now at a Seagoville Middle School. He reached out to me and asked if I would consider subbing short term for one of his counselors. I didn't blink an eye in accepting his request. I found the same caring and respect for teachers, students and parents at his new school, as I had seen when we first met. Mr. Chaparro has been a lifechanger to innumerable people who have been lucky enough to know him and that includes me.
Mr Chaparro is a committed professional individual that I have had the pleasure working with. I could list a wave of attributes; take charge, deals well people, goal orientated,a motivational person, highly creative, but most of all he is a family man . But I truly believe his Biggest Assets are his involvement with our children.Very positive role model.
You are and have always been an amazing educator and leader. I remember you leading the Fred Factor professional development and how you took ownership of the ideologies in the book. You exemplified ALL of the characteristics of the awesome person Fred was. You painted the school, created a student led security team and treated each of us as though we were kings and queens. Although I am nominated for this same award, I know that your winning would not be a loss for me, but simply a testament to the many lives you have touched in Dallas ISD!
Congratulations Mr. Chaparro on your accomplishment. You are an asset to Seagoville Middle School. You are an amazing leader.
Muchas Felicidades Javier!!!

Awesome job!!! He is a servant leader to his staff, students, parents and community.
Mr. Chaparro is an amazing person with a huge heart. He is hardworking and is always smiling, even on the hardest of days. He exudes the expression of life changer, as he has made a difference in the lives of many. He is a true inspiration to us all.
This man right here, whom I proudly call my father, is an example of excellence. He cares about his pupils and staff. I have never met another person as dedicated to his profession as Mr. Chaparro has been.
Thanks to him, I am the man I've become. He has pushed me to my limit, and most of the times, beyond it. He has sacrificed his life helping others, and setting up a good example.
I am the type of person that plays favorites, and not because I am talking about my father I believe he deserves to win, but he has worked so hard to be where he is at right now, and that makes him a candidate to receive the Life Changing Award.
Mr. Chaparro goes out of his way to change the lives of of everyone he encounters. His students, his staff, and his communities are all bettered by him. He invests time to get to know students, he works hard to grow teachers, and spends countless hours reaching out to parents and the community. In the time I worked with him, I felt like we could accomplish anything. I know that he will continue to inspire those around him.
Mr. Chaparro is the man! He's such a pleasure to work with at both the school and the community. He's serious about educating children. He's A-1.
Javier Chaparro is a gifted educator and leader. In my tenure working with Mr. Chaparro at Boude Storey Middle school, his dedication to his position was evident. No matter the task, he took it on, without any complaints. His servant leadership was apparent by not only the students, but also the staff. He was more than an assistant principal; he was a role model and most definitely a life changer (he wasn't too bad on the bar-b-que grill either)! If we had more selfless, generous, industrious, and benevolent people like Javier Chaparro, the world would be a MUCH better place!
Fantastic man. Worked with him at Boude Storey. Congratulations and may God continually bless you.
Congratulation, nobody deserves it more than you.
Mr. Chaparro is very deserving of this honor. He took over a troubled school & provided much needed consistency! He cares deeply for his teachers & staff as well as the students. He is also a great father! I recommend him for this honor!
Mr Chaparro is truly an example of a great leader! Children, staff, parents and the community at large benefit from Mr Chaparro's labor of love as an educator.
I had the privilege of being mentored by him years ago as a young teacher. Thanks for all you do Mr.Chaparro!!!!
He is a genuine leader who cares for All People... he believes in " growing people". He will be very deserving of this award.
During my interaction with Mr. Chaparro, I nicknamed him Superman. He was always present and involvec with the students daily. I arrived to work an hour and a half early daily and most of the time Mr. Chaparro would be there when I arrived. He was the assistant principal, but he did things no other AP had ever done. He painted our hallway once, cooked for the staff, and played soccer with the students after school. Mr. Chaparro is certainly a life changer for me. I came back to work perhaps a little to soon after a major surgery. There was a fight between teo students. I was hit in the cross fire. Mr. Chaparro ran through the crowd broke up the fight and provided assistance to me until the nurse arrived. The incident caused my incision to rapture. Needless to say I have the highest level of respect and admiration for Mr. Chaparro. In fact, if there's ever an opportunity for me to work with him, I'll accept the position no questions asked
I worked under Mr. Chaparro my second year into my teaching career as a 6th grade ELA teacher at Boude Storey Middle School where he served as an Assistant Principal/Dean. In just my short time in education, Mr. Chaparro recognized my potential and talents. He made it his business to push my thinking around data driven instruction, providing support around my areas of opportunity, and validating how the work we do with our students is hard work, but some of the most important work I'll ever do. Watching Mr. Chaparro each day working with students, especially the ones we love the most, was inspiring. At every point compassion, respect, and integrity we're present and not by accident but by choice. Mr. Chaparro impacted my life very early on in my career, and was a significant part of my choice to pursue my license in administrative leadership. I currently serve as the Assistant Principal of East Chicago Lighthouse Charter school serving the same demographic of students as I did in Dallas, and I know I wouldn't be here if it weren't for the words and actions of Mr. Chaparro all those years ago. He is a true model of what leaders today should be, and has without a shadow of a doubt, my recommendation for the Life Changer of the Year Award.
Mr. Chaparro is an excellent middle school principal. It is a pleasure to serve the Seagoville Community with him!
I'm am thankful to have had the opportunity to work under the leadership of Principal Chaparro. He is a caring, genuine individual who wants the absolutely best for his teachers and, most importantly, the students. Anyone who has the opportunity to engage in a conversation with Principal Chaparro will easily see how passionate he is about what he believes in and what he does as an educator. He is truly an advocate for young people and for his teachers. Principal Chaparro is definitely deserving of this award; I hope he wins!! :)

Congratulations Mr. Chaparro??
Mr. Chaparro continues to be a leader of not only his staff but his students and the community he serves. He is a beacon of light and life. I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to serve under his leadership. Thank you for sharing your brilliance. You are simply amazing!
A well deserving candidate..true, kind and compassionate
Outstanding educator!!!!!!! One of the most inspiring people I have been afforded the opportunity to have worked with. Mr. Chaparro's passion for improving student outcomes is evident in everything he does. The fundamental belief that all students can achieve with the proper level of support, rests deep in Javier's core. I extremely proud of him. He is a true example of a life changer!
Mr. Chapparo's dedication to students and their success is the common denominator that has defined him as an educator. From a classroom teacher to school administrator his belief in developing the potential of every student is undying and had made him the outstanding educator that he is.
Seeing a recent picture of Mr.Chaparro at Seagoville MIDDLE SCHOOL in a "Cat in the Hat" costume, complete with a painted face, exemplifies who he is: a person who will go above and beyond to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff. How many people would do that in a middle school? He is truly devoted to building leadership and capacity through relationships, in both adults and students. He believes in everyone he meets, encourages them to exceed, and supports them along the way. When I saw that he was nominated, I couldn't think of anyone more deserving. He has committed his life to empowering others and showing them that through hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
Congratulations Mr.Chaparro, you are a Life Changer!
Javier Chaparro, indeed goes above and beyond to help students succeed in school. He does not think twice to stop his duties when a student and or family are going through difficult times . Javier not only offer his unconditional attention but also finds the right words and advice that make them feel, conforted, understood and cared for. Seagoville Middle School is a place with an improved teacher moral, healthy work environment, and a facility where good and respectful citizens are being produced thanks to his leadership style.
Muchas felicidades!!
This man made it a point to help me help my child get thru the 8 the grade and over to the high school. He is very committed to his students. Not that principle that only listens to his teachers, he listens to the students and investigates.
While serving the children, parents, teachers, administrators, and Dallas ISD for the past twelve years, I have seen Mr. Javier Chaparro matured as a professional and has obtained expertise from his involvement in the various roles from teacher, Campus Leadership Instructional Team, instructional coach, academic coordinator, assistant principal, and principal. He has built his leadership skills and potential through all of these experiences and opportunities. As the instructional leader of the campus, Mr. Chaparro aspires to establish a school culture and educational program supportive of student learning and socialization. He seeks to promote staff development, as well as teamwork and cooperation. Javier is an advocate for providing and promoting a positive, caring climate for learning. In addition, he is aware that parents are children’s first teachers and play a crucial role shaping the character of their children. He understands the importance of being familiar with a community’s needs for the development and initiation of activities which will meet those needs. Through the use of appropriate and effective techniques, he works with the community to encourage involvement and increase parental support. Finally, Javier is an advocate for children making sure that they have all the tools and support necessary to be successful. It is with great honor that I recommend Mr. Javier Chaparro to be the recipient of the Life Changer Award.
Mr. Chaparro is a committed Principal who has made a strong and positive impact in our school. First of all, he is an example of one who works countless hours to get things done. He one of the first vehicles in the parking lot to arrive and one of the last to leave. Secondly, Mr. Chaparro is positive and respectful towards students and Teachers. His daily announcements encourage students to push themselves and do their best. Mr. Chaparro recognizes Teachers on a regular basis for a "job well done" and encourages us to keep up the good work. Third, Mr. Chaparro is strong on processes and systems and has a strong analytical mind. He sets goals and information so that we may work to achieve those goals. Finally, Mr. Chaparro is a respectable and ethical Leader. This Life Changer Award nomination is well deserved! I hope he wins.
Mr Chaparro is making a difference in the culture of our school. I have never seen an administrator committed at such a self-less level. For example, he is the grill master for our events. It is NOT any other staff member HE is a leader in this area. He allows opportunities for members of his staff to develop as leaders as well.
Thank you Mr Chaparro for sharing your life with the children of our community. Your heart shines threw your children.
