Valeria Ogletree was nominated by her assistant principal, Marjie Rowe.
In Ms. Ogletree's 30 years of teaching, she has touched the lives of so many people, and exemplifies what it means to be a true LifeChanger in the lives of her students. Whenever something needs to get done, Ms. Ogletree is always the one to step up and help. She does it all while keeping a cheerful demeanor.
On one occasion, there was a teacher who needed to be out on sick leave. Ms. Ogletree volunteered to take over her class for the remainder of the year. By taking over the classroom, the students received continued instruction from a certified teacher, which allowed the students to have stability and connect with a teacher they know and love.
"It would be impossible to share the number of times she has covered a class, taken an extra group, or taken an extra duty," Rowe said. "Ms. Ogletree is one of those people you can always count on!"
Ms. Ogletree is also an educator who has a positive effect on the entire school. She sewed curtains for doorways in the office to make the atmosphere more welcoming environment. She attends every after-school and family event and offers a warm smile to everyone. Ms. Ogletree is an active member of the School Advisory Council, and offers her expertise in helping support school programs and initiatives as outlined in the School Improvement Plan.
Ms. Ogletree supports anyone in need, and her duties do not end when the school day is over. If she is notified of a family in need, she will do all she can to help. One family in the district is currently struggling with homelessness and financial troubles. On the weekends, Ms. Ogletree picks up the family and takes them shopping, takes them to lunch, and even does fun crafts with the children. She even makes sure they have meals and gifts for the holiday season.
"Ms. Ogletree goes above and beyond every day for the Meadow Park community," Rowe said. "She is a true LifeChanger!"
I met Mrs. Ogletree 16 years ago when she was my daughter's 2nd grade teacher. She was a huge part of my daughter's life that year, she helped her overcome her anxiety and really helped her be more confident. I was a parent volunteer that year and was able to see first hand how amazing Mrs. Ogletree was with everyone around her. She always gives 110% in everything she does. I enjoyed being around her so much I continued to volunteer for her class the following year. She always has a smile on her face and truly cares for her students past and current. Mrs. Ogletree is the most caring person I know! Congratulations Valeria! You truly are a LifeChanger!

As a former clerical volunteer, who worked with Ms. Ogletree's classroom, I witnessed a loving, safe, & educational environment for all students in their classroom. I advocate the innovative and caring attention provided by Ms. Ogletree, as she teaches and guides her students to achieve their greatest potential.
Congratulations! on this recognition for Ms. Ogletree from Meadow Park Elementary
Being a retired teacher of 35 years in the Florida Public School system I can say with a little authority that Val is one of those teachers and people that you encounter rarely in life. She is a complete giver, not a taker, where ever you encounter her. I met Val not in a school setting but in a passion we both enjoy, sewing. She bring her giving spirit to the sewing world just as she does in her classroom. She is continually helping others with their projects and is especially helpful to the beginners or those who are experiencing a problem. Val is always volunteering her skills and assistance plus sewing for charity. I consider myself blessed to call Val my friend.

Congratulations Meadow Park School! You have, among your personnel, one of the most caring, big hearted person I have met. I know Val from our association in the sewing community. We’ve worked and played together and no one can compare to the smile and hug that greets, the care for concerns and the energy to help. Not only has Valeria changed lives in her school, but she has also made a positive impact in her community.
Congrats!! Always knew you were special!
I miss this warm and friendly smile, she is deserving of this award!
I've been working with Mrs. Ogletree since my first year of teaching fourteen (14) years ago. Not only was I lucky enough to have her as my mentor, but she was a great 2nd grade teacher to my daughter as well. She made the transition to Meadow Park for us so easy and effortless. Over the years, I've seen Mrs. Ogletree take an interest in our Meadow Park families that are in need and she follows up with those families even after they leave our school. She goes out of her way to volunteer and/or comfort those who need it whether it's with her time or her sewing talent. She's loving to all students and always has a smile on her face. In my opinion Mrs. Ogletree is a Life Changer and I'm so happy to call her my friend.
Although I do not work with Ms.Ogletree, we have been friends for many years. She is always attending a school function of one type or another during her own time. I never hear her complain and she loves the work she does with her students. She goes above and beyond with her kindness and generosity. When a child didn't have enough warm cloths for the Safety Patrol trip, she found cloths for that child. Another child didn't have sox's, she went and bought that child some sox's. She really cares about her students not only academically but makes sure they are taken care of emotionally too. She takes the time to know her students and help them any way possible. I myself have learned from her kindness and try to be the selfless person l see her portraying everyday. Being her friend has changed my life and made me a better person.
Valeria Ogletree personifies the term LifeChanger! She has changed my life and I watch her on a daily basis change the lives of students and adults alike. She takes a personal interest in the well being of students- the whole student, their academic well being as well as their social and emotional well being. She takes a personal interest in her friends and colleagues, always extending herself and giving warmly of her time, advice and expertise. I've watched her care for children and their families, providing food, clothing, and even furniture for those in need. I've watched her advocate for students and be the voice for those that needed a voice in their favor. I've never heard her say no to any request. She is dedicated to our profession and gives tirelessly of herself in and out of the classroom. Every class that I have had here at Meadow Park embraces her as a little extension of me, I feel. We've always done that for each other, "looked out" and "in" on each others students. It's very reassuring to have someone show the same love and concern you have for your students. I witness daily the relationships she develops and the sincere care that she gives. She does this for me and for my students and that's priceless. She is special and she makes you feel special. She is caring and she cares for others through her countless acts of kindness. She is loving and she makes you feel loved through her warmth and sincerity. She is a LifeChanger and she exemplifies this through the way she lives her life and through the way she touches the lives of others.
A very dependable and loving family person. Always willing to go the extra mile.
Mrs. Ogletree has been the most friendly, warm, genuine person that I know. I came to Meadow Park as an intern and she met me with open arms. She quickly embraced me and made me feel like apart of her family. She dedicates herself to make a difference in the lives of her students, the faculty members and their families. She does not know how to "say no" She bends over backwards to help everyone. She volunteers her time, and talent to provide comfort for everyone. She works really hard in side and outside the classroom. She makes great contributions to the school culture. Even when she had an accident and showed up to work on crutches, she still performed well on her job, and continued with her extracurricular activities with a smile! She is a sincere friend, counselor, and mentor!
Valeria Ogletree truly deserves this award! She has been a mentor to me for a few years now, and she has helped me transition through difficult times, school, and more. Valeria is the most caring, hardworking, and motivational person I have yet to meet, and she always puts others before herself. She cares about each and every one of her students and will go out of her way to make sure that they succeed in whatever they are aiming for. Valeria Ogletree is overall an amazing person and this award is made for her.
Valeria takes a personal interest in some of our most "in need" students. She goes out of her way to ensure they have essentials, often outside of work hours and using her own funds. Valeria has always made time before and after school to give students extra help and attention. She is kind and helpful to coworkers and staff, always willing to pitch in and assist wherever needed. Valeria is very deserving of this award!
Next to the word lifechanger there should be a picture of Valeria Ogletree. She is the definition of a lifechanger. She has been a lifechanger her whole life. Doesn't matter what you need, she is ready to help. The children and their parents who have had her as their teacher have had the best. She is truly a Lifechanger.
Ms. Ogletree is all about the total well being of children. I have seen her in action teaching the planned lesson for the day as well as helping her students navigate through the challenges of life. She is tireless in her efforts and committed to her profession. Not only are her students fortunate to have Ms. Ogletree as a teacher but I too consider myself the beneficiary of her mentorship. She is my big sister and has always been there is help me when I needed it. Valeria Ogletree truly personifies a 'LifeChanger'.
Mrs. Ogletree is one of the best all-around teachers I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Not only is she a great teacher, but she is so much more to the students and staff at Meadow Park Elementary. She is always willing to lend a hand, from volunteering her talents and services, to providing support for school functions. From the time I have known her, she has assisted with breakfast in the cafeteria, helped with after-school and weekend school-related events. She has also made such a difference in students' and families' lives by providing clothing, shoes, school supplies and food to homeless students and other needy families in the community. Her continuous caring, giving and selfless support has made a huge difference in the lives of numerous students. Mrs. Ogletree without a doubt is most deserving of this nomination/award.
I have known Ms. Ogletree since she was my second grade teacher(over 10 years)! Since then we have become not only friends, but she has also become a mentor to me. Because of her I decided to go into teaching so that I can follow in her footsteps of not only helping mold young minds, but to help those in need. She is always a phone call away. I love having her visit my classroom to share ideas and giving suggestions on how to improve. She is an amazing person!
I have known mrs. Ogletree for a few years now and she is a very kind person. I see her every morning helping students get out of their cars and she does it with big pleasure. She loves to help students by encouraging them to be their best. I am very happy that mrs. Ogletree was nominated for Lifechanger of the year.
I am a new employee of the district this August yet not new to Palm Beach County. From my first day on this new school campus, Ms. Ogletree welcomed me with a warm smile and a kind heart. She did not just introduce herself, she asked how I was doing and gave me words of encouragement during this time. Although our paths do not cross often on a school day, I will notice her gentleness with the students in the hallway or as they exit the computer lab in the early morning. She treats everyone with respect and genuine care. I am lucky to work in the same school as Ms. Ogletree.
I’ve had the great pleasure of having Ms. Ogletree as my 2nd (second) grade teacher. She was always so patience and kind with her students and made learning fun. I am now in my junior year of college and Ms. Ogletree still gives me great advice for what I can do to move forward with my education. I am proud to call her my friend and lucky that she was my teacher at a young age, she has definitely changed my life for good.
I have only been at Meadow Park for three years, but I have the pleasure of speaking to Val every morning. She is always so warm and welcoming. I am serving on a committee for Project Graduation at my son's high school. When I went to a meeting, there was Val wanting to serve even though her daughter is no longer there. She is the real deal!!!
We LOVE Mrs Ogletree, she is true and genuine educator! She always has a positive attitude and she is always willing to help!
Very well deserved!
I have known Val for 7 years. She was one of the first teachers to make me feel welcome at Meadow Park. She always has a kind word or a helpful hint. Prior to my bilateral knee replacement surgery, she was there to assist me in any way so I didn't have to walk far. Since my return she is there again to assist with my needs. She is a valuable teacher and a loyal friend. Thank you Val for all of your years of teaching our children.

She is a really good teacher also I have to say a big thanks for help me Maykol so much.
When I think of a Life Changer Of the Year, I think of "that" Educator who has gone above and beyond the "Call Of Duty" to serve the school's community, parents, and other invested stake holders who truly care about the empowerment of our young professionals of tomorrow. Val Ogletree is that person! She is making a significant difference in the lives of students by exemplifying excellence, positive influence and leadership. She is always willing to help others in need. She is on of the first to volunteer at programs at our school that are after working hours. Val has families that she helps mentor. All of these are done with the contagious smile that she has that can make your day better by just passing her in the hall.Val Ogletree is a Life Changer!

Ms Ogletree is a warm and welcome spirit whenever she comes into the kitchen to assist with the children coming through the lunch line. Her assistance is always appreciated and when having to instruct or correct a child, it's always done with a loving and constructive attitude to which the children respond. It's always a pleasure to have her assistance and always a pleasure to see her in or out of school.
I have had the pleasure of working with Val Ogletree for the past 3 years. I moved into her old classroom my first year at Meadow Park so she was one of the first people I met when I reignited my teaching career. Val has always been kind, generous and considerate. She always goes above and beyond to make not only teachers and colleagues feel welcome but to ensure that every student on campus is greeted with a smile and gracious attitude as well. My mornings and days are made brighter whenever I get to see Val because her positive attitude is truly infectious. All of the students at Meadow Park know who she is. She's a well-loved fixture at Meadow Park! She absolutely deserves this nomination because she has helped to change the lives of everyone around her!
I have had the honor of working with Val Ogletree for the past 18 (eighteen) years. During this time, I have come to know Val as a loyal colleague and faithful friend. Val has a very generous heart with both staff and students. She is always willing to help in any way she can. Whether it is using her sewing skills to help make window covers for classrooms, or taking a student on a special outing each week, she is always helping others. She is one of the first to arrive daily, and opens the computer lab for early arriving students. She is a genuine caring person, who I am proud to call a friend
