Phoenecia Cummings was nominated by her principal, Kimothy Hadley.

Ms. Cummings has made a difference in the Math department since becoming the Department Chair. She provides students with a fun filled class of Math instruction that is centered around student engagement. There are many roles Ms. Cummings gives her time to perform in order to create a positive school culture. She serves as the Math department chair, a member of the leadership team, as a district curriculum vertical alignment team member, and as an after/summer school teacher. Ms. Cummings' ability to build relationships with her students is evident in the three year state assessment data. Her state assessment scores have improved over a three year period, with this past school year having the greatest increase. Ms. Cummings' commitment to providing her school and students with a nurturing atmosphere has not gone unnoticed.
