Romel Espinoza was nominated by a colleague who wishes to remain anonymous.

Mr. Espinoza is usually one of the most popular teachers at Garfield because he is strict, yet treats everybody with respect. His class is very rigorous, and although it may seem like an excessive workload at times, he is preparing his students for college. His demeanor and the atmosphere that he provides for his students, makes them want to work. He consistently works more hours than he needs to, teaching on Saturdays and even teaching summer school. His goal is to get his students to focus on a higher education, which is attainable through his teaching styles and support.

Mr. Espinoza has taught me the true meaning of dedication and hard work. Every class is an important life lesson as well as an English lesson. He makes me and all of the other students feel comfortable which produces better quality of work. We feel so comfortable with him that he lets us refer to him by his first name. This makes me feel as though his instruction is coming from a peer rather than an authoritative figure. Not only does Romel help us in the classroom, but he is always providing us with advice and wisdom for a better future. Mr. Espinoza genuinely believes in me and everybody else who is lucky enough to be his student. Thank you Mr. Espinoza, for all that you do for us.
