Dominic Patacsil was nominated by a colleague who wishes to remain anonymous.

Mr. Patacsil is a very giving and caring teacher. He gives so much of his free time to his students, helping them understand their lessons and providing opportunities to complete their work. He is the type of teacher who is the first to arrive in the morning, and the last to leave in the evening. For the past three years, at the request of his students, Mr. Patacsil started a Drama Club, which has grown to a full-fledged class. He has guided his students to producing some great plays, and he has given his students an avenue in which they can express themselves. He is very loved by his students and well respected by the staff at Garfield.

"He is always seeking new ways to help his students," the nominator said. "He is well deserving of this honor."

I have been lucky enough to be a student and member of Mr. Patacsil's theatre program for the last two years. Being a part of his program, classes, and productions have truly changed my life for the better. I went from a student who could barely give an oral presentation, to a student who can sing in front of 1,000 of my fellow classmates. I owe that courage and newfound confidence to Mr. Patacsil. For this I am eternally grateful to him.
